Garbage Pail Kids

Series 1 Garbage Pail Kids Wax Box

Series 1 Garbage Pail Kids wax packs

Yep. This is a full 48-pack Garbage Pail Kids Series Wax Box. I bought it about 15 years ago on eBay for $1000.00. I had always wanted one of these. At the time $1000.00 was failry absurd for this item. Since then, however, it has turned into a sort of holy grail of non-sports trading cards. Prices for these boxes have risen exponentially in the past five years or so, as many boxes have been ripped open to find high-grade singles of Nasty Nick and Adam Bomb. Prices for unauthenticated Series 1 GPK boxes can rise as high as $17,000 on eBay! Authenticated boxes are even more expensive, with some dealers slapping $25,000 (or more) price tags on these. This box includes the 25 cent variety. Some packs have the "25 cents" logo and some do not.

Series 2 Garbage Pail Kids Wax Packs

Series 2 Garbage Pail Kids Wax Packs

This is a Series 2 Garbage Pail Kids wax box. I bought this in 2016 for $500. It's value has more than tripled in just four years. These sell on eBay for between $2,500-$3,500 now.

GPK Singles

Garbage Pail Kids: Nasty Nick, Evil Eddie

Garbage Pail Kids: Dead Ted, Jay Decay

Garbage Pail Kids: Adam Bomb, Blasted Billy

Garbage Pail Kids: Mean Gene, Joltin Joe

I have "collected" 1st and 2nd series of Garbage Pail Kids since I was ten years old. I have also been the beneficiary of some fortuitous circumstances. I think it was probably in the year 2000 when I visited a place near where I grew up called Wildwood Peddlers Fair. This was amazing place to find incredible treasures as hundreds of vendors would meet every Sunday to sell whatever they could in a fair-like environment. Sure enough, I found one seller with a box full of Series 1 Garbage Pail Kids. At the time, they had some value, but no where near what they are worth today. He offered to sell me the entire box for $0.50 a card. I think we settled on a $100 and I took the entire load. I could see from the piles that there were multiple Jay Decays, Adam Bombs, Potty Scotties, and all of the others. They were not all in gem mint condition, but they were good enough - and enough to fill an entier binder. Above are some pages from this binder. In all, there are more than 200 singles, which are worth at least $1,000.00 and probably more at this point.

GPK Sets

Here is a MINT condition Series 1 Garbage Pail Kids Set. It is worth about $500

I also have the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th series sets.

GPK Extras

Here are a few GPK toys. These are fairly hard to find, but also not particularly valuable or expensive. The pencil billboards are authenticated and graded AFA 80. All together, I'd price these at $250 combined.
